Former USC Coach Accused Of Making Fake Athletic Profiles For Lori Loughlin’s Daughters Pleads Guilty

A former University of Southern California (USC) soccer coach accused of making fake athletic profiles for actress Lori Loughlin’s daughters pleaded guilty for her involvement in the college bribery scandal Tuesday.

Laura Janke, 36, allegedly helped students gain admissions to USC by listing false athletic accomplishments, making bogus athletic profiles and accepting bribes, CNN reported Tuesday. She pleaded guilty for conspiracy to commit racketeering and could face almost three years of prison.

“Pretty much every school that required a falsified profile was created by Ms. Janke,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Rosen said, according to CNN.

Loughlin and fashion designer husband Mossimo Giannulli allegedly paid $500,000 to get their daughters into USC as crew recruits, even though the girls did not row competitively.

Federal officials accused William Rick Singer of cheating the college entrance system to help parents get their children into the nation’s top colleges. He reportedly ran and used his bogus charity Key Worldwide Foundation (KWF) in California to facilitate the bribes. Authorities charged at least 50 people in the case.

The scam allegedly involved cheating on the SAT and ACT college entry tests and bribing college athletic coaches. (RELATED: USC Bars Students Potentially Linked To Admission Bribery Scandal From Registering For Classes)

Janke’s plea comes a day after “Desperate Housewives” star Felicity Huffman pleaded guilty for paying $15,000 in exchange for a boost in her daughter’s SAT scores.
