Harrison Ford took the stage Thursday at the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco and told the group to “stop electing leaders who don’t believe in science.”

“If we can’t protect nature, we can’t protect ourselves,” the 76-year-old actor shared with the audience gathered, according to the Los Angeles Times. “For God’s sake, stop electing leaders who don’t believe in science.”

“Or even worse, pretend they don’t believe in science for political self-interest,” he added. “Never forget who you’re fighting for.”

“An impassioned- and very serious Harrison Ford- tells the crowd here at the Moscone Center— ‘I’m here, you’re here, because we ‘care…if we can’t protect nature, we can’t protect ourselves. #GlobalClimateActionSummit,” a Bay Area NBC reporter tweeted.
