Waffle House Hero Disappointed By Trump’s Phone Call
Waffle House shooting hero James Shaw Jr. spoke to the president Monday and said he was a little disappointed in how the conversation went.
Shaw stopped a gunman at a Tennessee Waffle House after he opened fire back on April 22.
According to an interview with TMZ Wednesday, Shaw said the conversation was “a little lackluster.”

However, he also added, “I know he’s very busy with what’s going on in the world. Shaw said he was “just happy” to talk the to the president.
During the shooting last month, a man wielding an AR-15 shot two people outside of an Antioch, Tennessee Waffle House. He then charged inside and continued shooting. That’s when Shaw sprung towards the shooter, and was successfully able to wrestle the gun away from the bad guy. The shooter fled on foot and eventually was apprehended. Four people were killed in the attack.
